Corrections, 2017

Correction fluid (titanium dioxide, propenoic acid, water), Dimensions Variable.

Corrections juxtaposes the perception of mistakes and the materiality of correction fluid. The sculpture is made from over a liter of correction fluid; Corrections three-dimensionality physically takes up space with correction fluid. The material that is often used subtlety to mask mistakes is the focal point of the sculpture, playing on society’s penchant for covering up mistakes. While the folded form mimics a crumpled piece of paper and reveals the wrinkles of imperfection in the correction fluid, the beauty in Corrections questions our perception of mistakes.
