Eko-bezhig Bagijigan, 2017
Copper, Dimensions Variable.
Eko-bezhig Bagijigan translates to stories as roots. This temporary installation reflects on the history of its site: Beausoleil Island. The copper forms are story pods that absorb the narratives of the many peoples who have passed through the land since the beginning of time. As a 4 day long intervention, this moving "landmark" took root across the island, quietly listening to the land.
